Quantitative Ecology Lab Manual
Policies, expectations, and guidance for members of the Quantitative Ecology Lab at UBC - Okanagan
Updated 2026-07-14
Welcome

The Quantitative Ecology Lab at the University of British Columbia - Okanagan is based in the Department of Biology, and affiliated with the The Okanagan Institute for Biodiversity, Resilience, and Ecosystem Services (BRAES). The Quantitative Ecology Lab is focused on protecting vulnerable species and the ecosystems on which they depend. The lab’s research is centered on the recognition that good conservation science begins with an honest accounting of what the data can and cannot tell us. We develop and apply rigorous statistical tools that ensure the evidence used to support conservation decisions is both accurate and reliable.
This lab manual is a living document, and is meant to provide a central place for current and future members of the Quantitative Ecology Lab to access information about our policies, expectations, and collaboration and research practices.
